On behalf of the TargetCancer Foundation Board of Directors, I want to take this opportunity to recognize the impact of the TCF community’s continued support and tremendous generosity as we celebrated our 15th Anniversary in 2024, a year highlighted by expansive programs and strategic growth.
From my initial involvement as a member of the TCF community brought on by my father’s cholangiocarcinoma diagnosis in 2016, to running the Boston Marathon as a member of Team TCF in 2018 and 2023, to an ever-evolving role as a TCF Board member, I have experienced the strength of TCF as well as its community and partners. TCF’s mission and vision are born from empowering patients and connecting experts. Over time, that mission and vision have grown to include driving innovative initiatives that create hope. I remain humbled by TCF’s success, but am excited to continue to work with this community to advance our impact in 2025 and beyond.
Our new website and educational resources, as well as our clinical trial, TCF-001 TRACK, are game changing and continue to reach and support patients and families facing rare cancers across the United States and internationally, providing access to essential information and treatment options. TCF will be expanding these resources in the coming year to bolster its rare cancer footprint, adding new webinar opportunities and enrolling the next 200 TRACK patients in this groundbreaking study.
We are also looking forward to two exciting opportunities to collaborate and expand our reach this spring. First, on April 21st, our incredible team of a record twelve inspirational runners will participate in the 129th Boston Marathon, after raising awareness and impactful funds for TCF’s mission. We will then gather in celebration for a new event: A Night to Strike Out Rare Cancer at Fenway Park on May 2nd! It will be a night to remember at Fenway to celebrate a monumental 2024, rally behind an exciting 2025, and cheer on the Boston Red Sox as they play the Minnesota Twins.
There is so much to be proud of yet so much still to do. I am grateful for the support of each member of this very special community and look forward to working together in 2025!
