In 2015, Team TargetCancer Foundation (Team TCF) received two invitational entries through the Boston Marathon’s non-profit charity program. Since then, our team has continued to grow due to our runners’ incredible fundraising efforts. In 2024, Team TCF was awarded ten invitational entries and designated an Official Charity of the Boston Marathon.
In addition to months of effort training for one of the world’s most elite marathons, members of our team simultaneously raise awareness about rare cancers in their local communities and fundraise to support our rare cancer research and advocacy programs. All funds raised by the team go directly to TCF and are put to work in real-time to help patients, families, and researchers. We are grateful to the members of Team TCF and their communities for this incredible support.
Our sincere thanks to the Boston Athletic Association for providing TargetCancer Foundation with Boston Marathon bibs.

Team TargetCancer Foundation 2024
2024 was a special year for Team TargetCancer Foundation, as we celebrated our tenth year participating in the non-profit charity program of the Boston Marathon. The Boston Athletic Association selected TargetCancer Foundation as an Official Charity of the Bank of America Boston Marathon in 2024, and awarded us ten invitational entries, doubling the size of our team.
Fueled by their personal stories, the support of their friends and family, and pure grit and determination, these ten runners persevered through scorching conditions to successfully complete the 128th Bank of America Boston Marathon. Together, the team shattered all previous fundraising records, raising $171,520 in support of our rare cancer research and patient support initiatives. Since 2015, Team TargetCancer Foundation has raised over $655,000 in support of our work and the rare cancer community.
From their first day of training until they crossed the finish line on April 15, the members of Team TCF24 tallied many impressive accomplishments. We encourage you to learn more about these ten incredible runners by visiting their personal pages on the Team TCF marathon campaign website.
Please join us in congratulating Lauren, Colleen, Patrick, Katie, Emlen, Anne, Caroline, Jeff, DJ, and Jane on their remarkable achievements!

Running has always brought me hope — I started running long distances after several years of losing close friends and family to cancer. I ran the Boston Marathon with Team TargetCancer to join them in turning hope into action by raising awareness and funding critical research for rare cancers.
