After completing a hematology-oncology fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Dr. Thapa was thrilled to join the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute as GU oncology faculty as an instructor in medicine. While doing his fellowship training, he also earned a Master of Science in Clinical and Translational Science.
Dr. Thapa is passionate about delving into genomics and epigenomics and how they contribute to precision oncology in advanced GU oncology patients. He is keenly interested in research on the early detection and prevention of cancer, focusing on GU malignancies. Additionally, he is highly interested in an N-of-1 strategy (precision medicine) to formulate personalized treatment based on comprehensive genomic profiling in patients with advanced rare GU malignancies and its application to formulate hypotheses or innovative ideas for combinatorial drug development in early-phase clinical trials.
