Hetal Vig is a board-certified genetic counselor with over 20 years of experience in cancer genetics. Her career focus includes delivering high-quality clinical genomics services to patients and providers, developing genetics training programs for healthcare professionals, and conducting cancer genomics research. Hetal is passionate about improving patient outcomes and advancing cancer genomics.

Prior to joining Target Cancer Foundation, Hetal worked at Foundation Medicine, Inc. as a Clinical Genomics Specialist. Her clinical experience spans various NCI designated cancer centers including Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, and Fox Chase Cancer Center. She was also responsible for managing the genetic programs at both Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey and Fox Chase Cancer Center. Hetal held faculty positions at Boise State University, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and Brandeis University. At Brandeis University, Hetal served as Associate Program Director for the Master’s in Genetic Counseling Program.

Hetal earned her BS in Biology from Pennsylvania State University and two master’s degrees in Human Genetics and Genetic Counseling from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She lives in Acton, MA with her husband and two sons, and enjoys hiking, yoga, and cooking in her spare time.
