Jaren Mullen

Jaren Mullen is a medical student in the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s combined MD/MPH program’s class of 2028. Prior to attending medical school, he graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology and a minor in Ancient Greek and Roman studies, and later completed a premedical postbaccalaureate year at the University of California, San Diego. Prior to graduate school, he worked on oncology clinical trials and research at UC San Diego for four years, and in addition to helping coordinate care for hundreds of patients on clinical trials, co-authored several papers and protocols with faculty. He also spent a year volunteering and working on community-based public health in the Sierra Madre of Chiapas, Mexico with the non-profit Compañeros en Salud. He hopes to continue to be involved in research and scholarship throughout his training and future career as a physician, with the ultimate goal of helping provide more and better treatment options for patients.
