Monday, April 20, was a spectacular day in Boston as 13 members of Team TargetCancer Foundation 2026 triumphantly crossed the finish line of the 130th Boston Marathon® presented by Bank of America.
Please join us in congratulating Alex, Caitlin, Colin, Hannah, Jarrod, Jessica, Joe B., Joe O., Josephine, Narek, Sarah, Zack, and Zoë on their amazing accomplishment! Each runner carried loved ones in their heart and let the strength of their supporters fuel them throughout one of the world’s most challenging and beloved marathons.
In addition to their incredible physical achievement, it is with immense pride and gratitude we share that, in just six months, Team TCF26 raised more than $243,000 to support our rare cancer research and patient advocacy programs!
This staggering amount shattered multiple fundraising records. Not only is this the first team to break the $200,000 mark for TCF, but their efforts have officially pushed Team TCF’s all-time cumulative fundraising past $1,000,000!
The excitement continued just six days after Boston as Team TCF made its first-ever appearance in another Abbott World Marathon Major. Sarah Williams donned her jersey once again to complete the TCS London Marathon, marking a historic ‘two marathons in one week’ milestone. It was fantastic to see TCF green in London, and we can’t wait to see which global finish line our jersey will appear at next!
Since our Boston Marathon program began in 2015, 54 inspiring people have represented TargetCancer Foundation on the road from Hopkinton to Boston. Every one of them worked tirelessly to train, raise funds, and raise awareness about our mission and the critical needs of the rare cancer community.
Behind every runner has been a community that has supported them throughout their marathon journey. We are incredibly grateful to each member of Team TCF for their dedication and commitment, and to their friends, family, and donors who enabled us to reach this momentous milestone. We can’t wait to accomplish even more together in the future!
Since 2015, the TargetCancer Foundation Boston Marathon Team has:
- Expanded our roster from 2 invitational entries to 12
- Included 64 charity runners and 2 qualified runners
- Welcomed back 12 alumni to the Boston Marathon course
- Represented 16 states and 4 countries
- Engaged a community of over 4,000 donors
- Raised $1,000,000 in support of our rare cancer research, advocacy, and patient empowerment programs
